My toe really hurts.
But I did attempt to clean my glasses.

Oralia-Chrysanta this time. Is it weird that I sometimes find my own characters inspirational?

I don't know why I keep trying.
I've been meeting with the same sim group weekly for over four years, but somehow there's this community that's formed, and I'm not a part of it.

I used to be in, once, I think—I remember what it felt like, to be confident that the others valued my ablities, were interested in my contributions, liked me as a fellow player. I hardly ever feel like that anymore, and I don't know how to get it back. I looked for a fresh start, trying to recapture that, but lately it's been getting harder.

But I never blame anybody else, I like these people too much for that, I have to believe that if I could somehow get them to understand...but lately I've been unable to keep from trying, and it always comes out all wrong and just makes things worse. Two weeks out of three ending with me getting my keyboard damp is not a good track record.

I don't want to make anyone feel guilty and I certainly don't want to hurt anyone, but what is there to do? Either I don't say anything, in which case I feel miserable and have a tendency to lash out when a sensitive spot is approached, or else I try to explain and everyone either thinks I'm whining or asks how they can help, and I don't know what they can do to help and I don't want anyone to feel bad because they haven't done anything wrong.

I'm going to really regret this in a few hours.

I am such a slacker.
Ah, well. Salli posts all the local news anyway. ;)

For those of you who follow Eleni Aranelwa, I've been doing a base revamp, 'cause some of the original ones were just baaaad. (I also put up those portrait-cropped bases from the Loyhalel project. And the Twi'lek base.)

I need a new book to read. I picked up that last Tamora Pierce quartet over break (the last one is out in paperback now, by the way, for those of you playing along at home) and reread a bunch of Patricia Wrede books, and now I'm back to not having anything to read and it is very depressing.

I really need to get up tomorrow morning and work on the analysis for my physics lab ('cause we're meeting the professor at 12:45 and I need to see what I'll need help on before then). We have to give talks on Tuesday—I'm in the three-person group, which of course means that we have the hardest one. :P I would tell you all about it, except my brain is fried and I'm tired and I don't feel like doing anything but I can't go to sleep now, either, 'cause it's only 11 o'clock.

This post would be more interesting if I were less apathetic.

My arm hurts.
I'll get to that.

So, for reasons that remain a mystery I decided that the "4:00 p.m." on the schedule they gave me actually meant that was supposed to be there. I ended up spending an hour waiting at the security office. Oh, what joy. It turned out to be a good thing, though. I got bored and started looking at the Ohio map on the wall, which I knocked down and had to put back up, so I was explaining to the security guy who was helping me with it that I was checking to see if some of the itty bitty towns I worked in last summer were on the map. (This being the ultimate test of the quality of any given map.)

So it comes out that I worked at day camps next summer, and the woman behind the counter asks if I've ever been to LMC, which of course I have (was stationed there last year and went there as a camper for years), because it turns out that she worked there one summer, way back in '81 or something. So now I have some great info about way-back-when, yay!

And then, on the way down to the parking lot of go to choir, I slipped and fell hard, getting intense grass/dirt marks all over my jeans. My whole right forearm is sore from the impact. (I really need to stop typing.) And I know I'm going to have bruises all the way down my right leg! My coffee mug, which is really heavy-duty metal (well, you know, heavy-duty for a coffee mug), had the plastic piece on the bottom broken off (no big loss) and the metal is seriously dented. (If it did that to the metal mug, what must it have done to my arm?)

I have a really exciting life.

P.S. Red contest now voting.

I need to stop commenting on Mir's blog.
I mean, there's nothing wrong with commenting on Mir's blog, but I'm posting more on her blog than on mine!

Since I last posted, I've started taking Augmentin because my doctor (okay, the doctor I was able to see) said he thought I had a sinus infection, stocked up on yoghurt, had a close encounter with an extremely large centipede (excuse me while I stop and shudder), been randomly hit in the head with a frisbee, and obtained a heck of a lot of contest entries for a grand total of 28. Er...29. Great, now I have to go edit the poll...oh, and I think I managed to get myself signed up to host a prospective student tomorrow, which means I'll need to clean up the floor.

I can't remember if I posted a link to this contest. I'm sure you will not have a hard time guessing why I am asking you to check it out.

I need your comments on this doll. I can't get Salli to do her justice. ;)

This one is for Mir...
...but also for me, because I really need this right now. :P (And also for anyone else who has been having more than their share of bad days recently.)

I looked this up in my grandmother's old Bible, 'cause I left mine at school. (I don't usually read King James.)

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." -Romans 8:28

There's some seriously good stuff there. I have long held that whatever I'm going through right now, God can use that, use it to help others, to ultimately turn it into a blessing for someone, even if I can't see it. My experience tends to indicate that God has a plan, and no matter how rough it seems right now, he's gonna turn it into something good. And the worse it is, the better it's gonna have to be to make me think it's good, don't you think? ;) (The really trite way of putting it would be that the darker the tunnel, the brighter the light at the end is gonna have to be to make up for it. ;)

Anyway, I really needed to be reminded of that right now, so at least what you are going through has already produced that little bit of good. :)

aranel_elen got their Neopet at http://www.neopets.com
I got a Robot Shoyru.
Those of you who play neopets will understand how super-duper rare that is.

(Is anyone interested? I can't guarantee it'll work, but I can try to pass him on to one of you if you like. Otherwise I'll just send him along to whomever lucks out and start fresh with another lab pet.)

The invasion has begun in earnest.
So yesterday, Salli was like "you know, they haven't really been that bad this year".

Bad idea, Salli.

Looking through my closed miniblinds, I can see little ladybug shadows zipping about. They are everywhere, zooming and dive-bombing and landing on everything.

So, there are two possible states for me right now. I don't take any medicine, in which case I am tired and sluggish and it takes me four times as long to do anything because I'm not terribly alert. I do take my cough medicine, I'm still tired, but it makes me tense and gives me a little buzz, so I can't concentrate and it still takes me four times as long to do anything.

This is not looking like a good night to write a lab report.

There are at least four layers to that dress, not counting the two veils. I figure, discounting the transparent layer, that if I had that dress, that would be three more days before I had to do laundry. I have Robitussin.
Only it's the non-drowsy kind (which will be really good, tomorrow morning), so it has made my skittish and tense, seeing as it is almost 1 o'clock in the morning and I have to get up to work tomorrow and my body in no way feels like going to sleep.

Oh, yay. On the other hand, I seem to be coughing less. ::coughcoughcough:: Okay, I shouldn't have said that.

So, I have to get my lab report in by Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. (which sounds like plenty of time, but remember that there is never plenty of time to get a lab report in) and my lab book for my indepedent study is due, too. I would really, really, really like to get this stupid thing to count better (c'mon, how hard can it be to get a computer to count as well as the average six-year-old?), but I don't know if that is going to happen (I've only been getting nowhere for a week and a half). I have no clean clothing, so I'm going to have to get up tomorrow morning and washing something unless I want to wear Salli's khakis again tomorrow.

Come to think of it, they're still pretty clean.

Okay, so laundry tomorrow afternoon, but I still need to get up to check on some stuff for lab. (Namely, do we still have to get data for four different noise settings, 'cause the analysis has changed and it's just busy-work, really, at this point...?)

Anyway, all of this I will be trying to get done on Wednesday while also fending off Salli who will have some insane notion of going hope that afternoon, since it's break and she won't have had physics lab due at 3. :P

No one is going to comment unless I give you something pretty to look at (that ploy doesn't really work anymore, though, does it?), so here is Shay in a wedding dress. The incident, which may turn out to be apocryphal, occurs later in the storyline than the last one.

'...he made the mountains up so high...'Bleh.
I have really accomplished very little today.

I went in to work on my independent study project and poked around in LabView for a good chunk of the morning and did lots of spiffy things, but none of them constituted making any headway whatsoever in the problem.

I went to meet with my lab partners (I'm in the three person group this week) at 3:00 and neither of them showed up, so I left a note and left.

I tried to take a nap, never did fall asleep, and woke up groggy and disagreeable anyway.

And now I'm going to go to choir, where I can't sing because my throat is all messed up, and then to a physics midterm review session I'm supposed to be doing, which is going to be so late that I anticipate nobody coming.

Yay.
