I wish I could carry my blog around with me in real life.
Because then I could, you know, communicate. My throat has gotten so bad that several people (including my boss) have forbidden me to speak until 1-it gets better or 2-I'm at camp next week.

We have our assignments for the first week and it looks like I have an awesome team. It's going to be in Gallipolis, which is something I can tell you with no fear of "stalking" (are you reading this, Robbie?) since it is so far away from everything. That was my very first site two years ago when I started as a counselor. It's fairly hard-core Amazing Grace but the church there has been doing it for years and I think they really know what they are doing.

Pray for us. All of us. A lot. Because we cannot do this...but God can.

I'm usually too tired/busy to even check my email at the end of the day. I won't even always be here on the weekends, too, so that probably means that there will be whole weeks that go by without me putting in an appearance after all.

Every time I get on one of these computers, I have to reset the home page to something without a dozen pop-ups, uninstall some evil browser "enhancement", shut up AIM, remove SpyWare, reattach hardware, or restart the blasted thing. Haven't these people heard of setting your computers so that they wipe any changes when you restart or log out?

Contests now voting...
It's amazing how fast the time flies when you're...uh...frantically busy elsewhere.

I'm a little disappointed in the other entries here because I seem to have been the only one to get creative with the concept. (She's not telling who made which doll but I think anyone who knows me will recognize mine.) It's too bad she is just doing "best overall" and not "best overall" and "most creative". ;)

The Princess Bride contest is now voting and I figure I have a fair chance of placing since there are only four entries. :P (Ah, well. It was fun and I was doing it to be nice. ;) Her voting system is kind of funky—I encourage you to check it out.

More later (hopefully), since we are off for tonight and tomorrow and Salli and I aren't going home.

There is a computer lab at the church.
News at eleven.

No, really. I tried to post here earlier but blogger was down at the time. :P I had no email.

I think I may be an Amazing Grace TC. (Make that counselor-TC because we are essentially doing both jobs. Pray for me and my tension levels.) All. Summer. Because they want to have the same two TCs doing Amazing Grace the whole time. There are a couple of sites that I refuse to do, however (mostly because of bad associations and I don't want to inflict that upon the current site which is probably quite awesome). If I agree to be an Amazing Grace TC all summer, I figure I'll deserve all the concessions I can get.

I remain deeply skeptical of the new system, mostly since it relies so much on Other People Who Are Not Staff having their acts together, and I know very well that you just never know what you are going to get. Amazing Grace sites, in particular, tend to have less volunteers and need more help with registration. (And, you guessed it, the new system depends on having People Who Are Not Staff to smooth the process and handle registration.)

The entire staff (so far) is in here typing. Everyone. (All...seven of us. Er, eight. I think.) I think we are technically having a meeting (oh dear). Everyone else has YIM installed on the computer, but not I.

I spent the morning at the airport picking up Australian international staff. Yay!

I need coffee. Badly.

Speaking of The Princess Bride...
...well, okay, actually this is why I was looking into it earlier. She's for another contest—there were only two other entries and I thought that Just Wasn't Right. Also I didn't have time to go fishing around for inspiration because I really need to be going to bed (and washing my hair).

I didn't have time to research the belt properly and I would really like to do the sleeve over again, but I really like her attitude. :)

This is probably my last doll until August. ::sniff:: I hope I don't forget how to do it...
